Honors 50th Anniversary

Chemical and Biological Engineering Honors Scholar

Requirements to satisfy departmental requirements for Track 2:

Choose 12 credits from the following options:

Required: One or two honors science/mathematics courses closely related to the CBE major (MB 300 H, CHEM 345 H, CHEM 346 H, MATH 340 H; others at the 300 level or higher as approved by the CBE honors advisor) 3-9 credits

Required: One or more Chemical and Biological Engineering honors or graduate-level courses (CBE 406 H, CBE 501, CBE 502, CBE 503, CBE 504, CBE 514; others at the 300 level or higher as approved by the CBE honors advisor) 3-9 credits

Options:
(a) Honors options of 300-level or higher courses may be used to satisfy the requirements in the science/math or CBE categories with agreement of the instructor and approval of the CBE honors advisor;
(b) up to 3 credits of undergraduate research/independent study may be used toward the 12 credit total if this research is unpaid and is conducted at the junior or senior level, if a research plan is approved by the CBE honors advisor, and if a final research report is approved by the CBE honors advisor.

 

Note: In addition, all majors must complete honors thesis requirement.
