The goals of the HRLC include supplementing in-class
learning experiences with co-curricular programming; developing
community among Honors students, faculty, and staff; and creating
a supportive environment for Honors students. Honors students,
especially new first-year students, are encouraged to take advantage
of this special opportunity. Approximately 50% of first-year Honors
students choose to live in the HRLC. The Honors Program office
is located in the Academic Village. The Honors Program has three
classrooms in the HRLC that are used for seminars, special workshops,
invited lecturers, and various study sessions. The Academic Village
also has a fireside lounge with a fireplace available for student
use.
