There are two curricular tracks to provide an enriched educational experience for high ability students in all majors.

The University Honors Scholar program of study (Track 1) offers entering freshmen an alternate and superior way of fulfilling CSU's All University Core Curriculum. Students become a University Honors Scholar by completing four semester-long Honors seminars, two Honors courses in the major, and a faculty-mentored Honors senior year activity. Honors seminars focus on rigorous literate activities which improve critical reading and persuasive writing skills while exploring fascinating topics such as the perils and promises of globalization and the clash between religion and science. Track 1 is particularly well suited for entering students who have completed less than 20 college credits. For additional information about Track 1, click here.

A new Discipline Honors Scholar program of study (Track 2) was implemented in Fall 2005. Track 2 is designed for students who have already completed many college general education requirements through AP, IB and transfer courses. It focuses on upper division honors experiences in the student's major through small classes, enrichment experiences, and opportunities for one-on-one interactions with professors. Students become a Discipline (e.g., Chemistry or English) Honors Scholar by completing three to four Honors courses in the major and a faculty-mentored Honors senior year creative activity. Additional information on Track 2 can be found here.
