Scholarships For Incoming Freshmen

There is an automatic scholarship available for freshmen entering the Honors Program in the Fall of 2012. In addition, CSU offers merit-based scholarships to both resident and non-resident entering freshmen. Specific information about the Honors scholarship and the CSU merit scholarships for entering freshmen is listed in more detail below. Students who wish to apply for financial assistance from CSU should complete the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as the Colorado State University Scholarship Application (CSUSA). More information about applying for financial assistance can be found on the Student Financial Services website.

THE HONORS SCHOLARSHIP is available to freshmen entering CSU in the Fall of 2011.

Honors Scholarship

Entering Freshmen who are admitted to, and participate in the Honors Program.

Renewal is contingent on achieving the minimum cumulative GPA requirement to remain in the program, full-time status, and good standing.

$1000 annual award

 

Renewable for 6 additional semesters provided requirements are met.

THE CSU GREEN AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIP is available to Colorado resident entering freshmen.

Green and Gold Scholarship

Colorado resident entering freshmen who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.

Other factors considered include leadership, extracurricular activities, service to school or community, and special talents.

$2000 annual award, renewable for 6 additional semesters provided requirements are met. (3.0 GPA, full-status, etc.)

To be considered for this scholarship, each student must apply for CSU admission by the priority filing date of February 1.

Boettcher Scholarship recipients and National Merit Finalists who list CSU as their first choice institution with National Merit, National Hispanic Scholars, and National Achievement Scholars will automatically receive Green and Gold Scholarships.

 

ELIGIBLE NON-RESIDENT STUDENTS will receive ONE of the following scholarships if the CSU application is completed by February 1st.

Presidential Scholarship *

Non-resident entering freshmen who have a minimum 1300 SAT or 29 ACT AND a 3.8 or higher high school GPA.

$9000 annual award, renewable for six additional semesters provided requirements are met.

Provost's
Scholarship *

Non-resident entering freshmen who have a minimum 1230 SAT or 27 ACT AND a 3.6 - 3.79 high school GPA.

$7000 annual award, renewable for six additional semesters provided requirements are met.

Dean's
Scholarship *

Non-resident entering freshmen who have a minimum 1150 SAT or 25 ACT AND a 3.4 - 3.59 high school GPA.

$5000 annual award, renewable for six additional semesters provided requirements are met.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship**

Non-resident entering freshmen who meet specific academic criteria (see WUE website) AND are from a participating WUE state.

Estimated $9,700 (based on tuition and fees). Amount subject to change. Renewable for 6 additional semesters provided requirements are met.

* Presidential, Provosts, Deans Scholarships:
To be considered for one of these scholarships, each student must submit a complete Application for Admission (including transcripts, test scores, processing fee, essay, and letter of recommendation) and meet specific academic criteria by February 1. National Merit Finalists who list CSU as their first-choice institution with National Merit Corporation, National Hispanic Scholars, and National Achievement Scholars will automatically receive the Presidential Scholarship.

To be considered for the WUE scholarship, each student must submit a complete Application for Admission (including transcripts, test scores, processing fee, essay, and letter of recommendation) and meet specific academic criteria.
