Scholarships and Research Opportunities

Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

If you are like most freshmen, you could use some extra money to help cover your tuition costs. CSU offers merit scholarships through the Admissions Office to qualified freshmen. In addition, all incoming Honors freshmen will receive an Honors scholarship. CSU also participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) which reduces tuition costs for students from qualified states. Finally, there are hundreds of scholarships, including the prestigious Monfort Scholarship, offered through a competitive application process.

Scholarships for Continuing Students

If you are looking for scholarship support, you probably know about the Colorado State University Scholarship Application (CSUSA). The CSUSA is available online at RAMweb beginning December 1. The deadline is March 1 (but start early because the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) is part of the process). There are also links to external scholarship sources on CSU's Student Financial Services website, as well as some of our favorite scholarships.

Honors Enrichment Award

If you need assistance with funding for enhanced educational opportunities, check out the Honors Enrichment Award. Funds are available to support group and individual opportunities that are academically enriching, such as research, community service, study abroad, leadership development, participation in academic conferences, and cultural events. Check out the Honors students in action page for some examples of previous recipient activities.

Research Opportunities

The faculty and staff at CSU are committed to making research major component of the undergraduate educational experience and have developed numerous programs that enhance reserach opportunities at the undergraduate level. Interested students are encouraged to explore this website to learn more about CSU opportunities such as HURS as well as the excellent programs offered through organizations like the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Health.
