Goodbye Newsom, Hello New Academic Village

Construction is underway on the new Academic Village scheduled for completion in the summer of 2007. The Honors Living Learning Community, including the Honors staff offices, will be relocating to the North Hall of the new facility. Happy Birthday to Us!
| In 1957 Professor Willard Eddy assembled a group of 15 outstanding students and started an Honors Program at Colorado State. Mark your calendars for October 2007 and help us celebrate our 50th birthday next fall. We invite all Honors alumni to visit CSU, check out our new home and participate in special events to mark this momentous occasion. |

2006 Honors Professor Lecture

The Honors Prof Award is presented annually to the outstanding teacher in the Honors Program, as nominated and selected by students. The 2006 recipient was Dr. Anne Marie Merline, who presented her Honors Prof Lecture on Thursday, October 19th. Her talk, “Community--Individuals, Institutions, and Change: Lessons the Teacher Has Learned”, highlighted the importance of living as a community in a rapidly changing world. A dessert reception followed the lecture. |
2006 Honors Adviser
Dana Hoag, Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics, was the 2006 recipient of the Honors Adviser award, presented at the Honors graduation lunch in May, 2006.

Enriching Honors Students

The Honors Enrichment Award program provides funds for enhanced educational opportunities for Honors students. This past year, 47 individuals and two student groups received funds to cover expenses for study abroad, conferences, volunteering with Engineers Without Borders and the UN World Food Programme, thesis research and other activities. Read all about where our students are going and what they are doing when they get there.
