Integration of the Honors Core Curriculum into the AUCC

Many general education requirements from the All University Core Curriculum (AUCC) are satisfied by the four, one semester Honors seminars required in Track 1. Honors students in Track 1 will cover these areas from their first semester through their senior year. At most colleges and universities, general education requirements are satisfied in the first two years or less, which is antithetical to developing successful habits of the mind for lifelong learning. Table 1 shows the integration of the AUCC into each of the four Honors seminars and Table 2 explains which AUCC requirements are fulfilled by each Honors seminar.*

Oral communications (SPCM 200) is also fulfilled as a requirement for some majors.
