Freshman Application Process

Honors is NOW accepting applications for Fall 2010.

Participation in the University Honors Program involves a separate application process from the University, and should be done AFTER you apply for admission to Colorado State University. Applications to the Honors Program will not be reviewed until you have been admitted to CSU. Applications for undergraduate admission to Colorado State University can be found at www.admissions.colostate.edu or by contacting the Office of Admissions at (970) 491-6909. High school students are highly encouraged to apply to the University during the fall semester of their senior year.

Application Overview
The Honors Program application consists of the application form with a personal statement and a recommendation from a high school teacher.

Applications will not be reviewed until you've been admitted to Colorado State University AND a complete application (including personal statement and teacher recommendation) has been received by Honors. An on-line application is the preferred method for submitting Honors Program applications (Save the trees!) and can be accessed below. The application may also be printed from the links at the bottom of this page.

Teacher Recommendation
A teacher who has been directly involved in your education must submit a recommendation form or letter on your behalf. You should verify that your teacher has mailed or faxed the recommendation to Honors because we will not review your application until it is complete.

Application Checklist
  1. Honors Program Application with Personal Statement
  2. Teacher Recommendation form or letter

Honors Program Application Priority Date
The priority application date is March 1st. Early submission of your application is highly encouraged and online applications are preferred. When all components of the application have been received, your application will be reviewed. In some cases, we may ask for additional information before making a final decision. After March 1st, applications will still be accepted, although admissions decisions will be contingent on available space.

Honors Program Admissions Decisions
Offers of admission to the Honors Program are conditional upon high school graduation and satisfactory completion of, and performance in, senior year course work. Automatic admission is granted to selected exceptional students who have a demonstrated record of outstanding accomplishment in high school, including National Merit Finalists, Boettcher Finalists, Monfort Scholars, National Hispanic Scholars, and National Achievement Scholars.
